This 30 year old Tomintoul Single Malt whisky has been specially selected by Robert Fleming as the second bottling to commemorate his 30th year as the custodian of Tomintoul Distillery. A unique and full bodied single malt, it has a depth and richness of flavour that has developed over years of maturation in the fresh, pure air of the Cairngorm Mountains. This specially selected single malt spent the first twenty nine years maturing in American Bourbon casks being for being finished in a hand selected antique Pedro Ximenez Sherry butt for its final year. This double cask maturation gives the whisky a perfect balance of vanilla sweetness and delicate oak, beautifully complimented with a host of dried fruit and sweet spices, creating a perfect harmony. Aromas of sweet raisins, ripe plums and dates followed by a mellow background of vanilla, cocoa powder and a delicate oak spiciness. Rich layers of dried fruit and mincemeat pies coupled with mellow heather honey, marzipan, maple syrup and baking spices on the palate.
