A navy strength gin, bottled at 57% ABV, Tarbert Legbiter packs a punch but this aromatic spirit is wonderfully smooth and flavoursome. The nose is light with delicate floral notes, warming into gentle spice and pine aromas. Distilled with hybiscus flower and pink peppercorns, it is sweet and light on the palette with a floral midsection and a dry, lingering spice finish. It is delicious with a light tonic, garnished with pink peppercorns.
Namecd after a Kintyre Legend – Magnus Barelegs, King of Norway in 1093, who claimed Kintyre as his own by circumnavigating the peninsula. He refused to let the isthmus at Tarbert ruin his plan – he simply had his boat dragged across and declared Kintyre an island. Legbiter was the name of his sword and is a fitting moniker for this navy strength gin.

Arkh-Angell is a tribute to generations of island seafarers, and carries the name of a local fishing boat that has a place close to the heart of many Orcadians. The gin’s name also reflects the use of a locally grown variety of Norwegian angelica, called Archangelica, taken to the Islands centuries ago by sailors from the North.

The Dr (James Lind) took a base spirit at 96% ABV and re-distilled it with a carefully curated recipe of 7 botanicals to ensure that each of them worked in delicate harmony. The main three being:
Juniper: the cornerstone of any gin. It’s what makes gin gin. Indeed the English name ‘gin’ is derived from the Dutch word for juniper: jenever.
Lime: He decided early on that he wanted a lime flavour in the gin. Not fruit pastel, confected lime, but zesty refreshing lime, which they extract this from the rind, or skin of the lime.
Pink Peppercorn: The lime needed something to counterbalance it and the answer they found was a gentle addition of spice from pink peppercorns.
